A Discontent Sojourner: Now Free
Are You Liberated Yet?
With no intentions of questioning the "freedom" so often quoted and misquoted from News channels' endless debates to some University Scholars, I wish to bring into foreground a far more important connotation of the word "freedom". When we talk of liberating the world and other sections of society, we just mean by giving them something that is fundamentally essential for their existence but never the "freedom" in essence. That's because we cannot give somebody something that we don't have yet!
With all of us, the "so-called educated lot" the word 'freedom' conveys basically just our independence to make decisions, and act too. If elders or for that matter just other norms or controllers of society are not able to curtail our ways of doing things our way - it's freedom. Really? Let's rethink.... How we think or act is again based on our own limited experiences and knowledge gained in past few years. Is that all we need to know to act as a free spirit? We know nothing about it unless we don't understand our own "body"....i.e...."Life" and the "limitless possibilities" it holds. We claim of knowing the body parts and the organs, but we haven't yet discovered the "real being" of our own existence. When you start having the real understanding of who you are, you will liberate yourself of your surroundings and associated turmoils forever. You need to experience "peace" and "joy" within you.... these essentials just shouldn't be dependent on anybody or anything around you. No place or circumstance or person could keep up that feeling in you forever. It's you who has to do that effort, which becomes a cake walk once you experience your inner self. Interestingly, we all complain of not having perfect relationships ... but the kind of expectations we have could be failed by God too, leave apart any human !! So, the situations and world doesn't need to change. It's just you who need to liberate the discontent burden of wearily walking on a road which leads you nowhere. For that you need to possess control of your own being.
As has become my habit, I have penned down a few lines on the same:
A Discontent Sojourner: Now Free
The earth is all before me
quite like it always has been but more conscious now.
I am the visitant of the same old city
but with a joyous heart and a grateful me
escaping the murmurs of all that once mattered.
My mind now a clear stream
with a mission to liberate
all the half-given and half-missed
deals of freedom, respect and will!
To liberate the burden of my own
unnatural self with prospect of peace.
To liberate my weary foot travelling
from long through aimless field.
A discontent sojourner was my soul until
I made my 'inner self' that 'chosen guide'
Now free ... and cannot miss my way!
Hoping to get along with the readers at the moment towards "liberating" ourselves in the real sense!!
Hey Suman...such a wonderful piece of writing..very deep..very thoughtful..loved reading it...keep writing...really enjoy ur write ups and rightly said-Our bodies are a bunch of sensations and at a deeper level our energy can predict the kind of day we are going to experience .
ReplyDeleteOn a general scale our life is equally proportional to the joy &energy we infuse into our lives .There will always be people who do not behave the way we would like them to .
If we keep reacting to them we are being controlled by them .
And we will attract more such behavioural patterns .
Find your centre.Whatever we constantly talk or think about stays in our life .
We can simply turn around our world by looking the other wayLife is a melange an interesting mix of different ideologies tastes and preferences .
Although we co exist ......each one relates to the other with their own unique perception ,which changes moment to moment .
Never expect a similar feeling or response for any situation or person .....as you yourself perceive .It is not essential to be always right ; at times unreasonable behaviours of our loved ones can be overlooked to maintain the sweetness of the relation, if we learn to be detached from the need to be right at each moment.
Skies can be grey at times. We are here for a limited period of time ... the next breath is an uncertainity.
All we have is this moment .make it the best day of your life .
Love live laugh
Beautifully written!! Thanks Suman for your insights and for such encouraging posts. Good luck!
